Cleft 2022 is offering 10 Bursaries, up to £1500.00 to cover travel, accommodation and registration to attend Cleft 2022 for delegates from low/middle income countries.
Bursaries are available to individuals from low and lower-middle income economies as specified by the World Bank using their measure of Gross National Income (GNI) as of June 2021.
Applicants must be committed to attending and also reaffirm this commitment on hearing if they have been accepted for a bursary.
Other important criteria that will be considered by the bursary committee to help prioritise applications:
The applicant has submitted, or is included as a co-author in, an accepted abstract for a poster, oral presentation or workshop
The applicant is a
- matriculated student
- early career researcher i.e. up to 10 years following a postgraduate degree
- an early career professional (i.e. up to 10 years into professional career)
Please note that these criteria do not preclude more senior and established investigators from making a case for a bursary, but the case will need to be stronger.

- Payments:
a. will only be made upon submission of receipts
b. will only be made if proof is provided of attendance at the conference
c. will be paid by In Conference directly.
In exceptional circumstances we may pay travel costs in advance, where it would be impossible for
attendance otherwise.
- All applications will be acknowledged. If you do not receive an acknowledgement you should assume you application has not been received. Applications should not exceed the stipulated word count for the requested statements on the application form.
