Cleft 2022 unequivocally condemns all forms of violence, aggression, invasion and wars; and we are deeply saddened/heartbroken by the suffering and loss of lives as a consequence of the invasion of Ukraine.

Cleft 2022 stands in solidarity with cleft and craniofacial organisations globally, in condemning all invasions. Our focus is on how we can best work with international colleagues to support patients and families whose care has been adversely affected by war.

We acknowledge/applaud all health care workers who continue to deliver care in these settings, often at great personal risk and sacrifice.

We recognise the courage of those in all countries, who speak up, publicly, against war, even when doing so, puts them personal risk.

We also support the statements of ACPA and Universities UK

We are working with international partners, other cleft and craniofacial organisations and the Global Surgery Policy Unit at the Royal College of Surgeons of England to collaborate on effective and impactful ways we can support patients with cleft and craniofacial conditions, their families and healthcare workers.
